School, and Pageant.

Today, the Girls went to school! Hailey is in the 3 year old class 3 days / week, and Kristen is signed up for 2 days, with the option to send her 3. (I am keeping her home on Fridays.) The girls had a blast!!! Mark and I dropped them off this morning, and they were more than OK with us leaving. My Babies are growing up!

Heather, who is the mastermind behind all the personalized shirts / onesies / diaper covers, etc... on my website made Hailey's dress! THANKS, HEATHER!

Hailey did the Tiny Miss Atlanta pageant on Saturday. She had so much fun, and did such a great job! We were so proud of her! She won Photogenic, and Best Dress. I was originally told that this was a Non-Glitz pageant, and when we got there, yeah.... not so much. You can see that there are Glitz Girls in her category. It's not for me. :)

Teacher Time!

Today the Girls went to school to meet their teachers! Hailey has 2 new teachers this year, and Kristen has Hailey's teacher from last year! We decided to enroll Kristen in school now instead of January. We think she's ready..... we will see! School starts Monday! Is Mommy ready?!?

Hailey loves to look at the Halloween costume magazines that are coming in the mail. She saw a shark costume, and said she didn't want to be it. Apparently, you have to go into the sharks belly with your feet sticking out to do this costume, according to Hailey. :)

Farm Trip

My family owns about 65 acres in Newnan, GA. This land has been in my family since my Dad was a kid. My parents have been working their tails off cleaning and updating the Cabin there. We all met up this past Sunday to enjoy Mom and Dad's manual labor for the past few months. The place looks GREAT! We will have many more trips back, now that it's all cleaned up and ready for kiddos. :) I have many wonderful memories from the Farm as a kid, and I hope my Girls will have many happy memories from there as well.

I totally forgot my camera. *GASP* My Brother's Girlfriend, Candice, took these and emailed them to me.

OK.... I have a huge fear of clowns, so the title of my post probably isn't the best one, but it describes the pictures.

The girls decided they wanted to get into my makeup yesterday and play. YIKES!

Amazingly, Hailey did a good job with her makeup. Put eyeshadow on her eyes, blush on her cheeks, and lipstick on her lips. (her picture is blury, sorry!)

Kristen on the other hand.... well, you'll see! She had a field day!

The Girls had a lovely time playing in Kristen's room this afternoon. After this, we had a major clean up in the room! Kristen did actually go and pee pee on the potty, too. :)

New Skirt.

Well, I got a wild hair up my booty yesterday and made this skirt for Kristen. I think it turned out pretty cute, as long as you don't look at it up close. :) It really wasn't too hard, I've just got to learn to sew in a straight line. Hehe...

Also, on a Kristen post...She had another Ortho Appt yesterday. I wanted to get a 2nd opinion about her legs. The Doc confirmed that her issues are her feet, legs and hips. All are which curved. They don't operate on 2 year olds, unless it's a very severe case, which hers isn't. Thankfully! Her case is old the Moderate - Severe area. (On a scale of Mild - Moderate - Severe) We will re-evaluate the surgery option when she's 4.
In theory, her feet should straighten out when she's 4, her legs when she's 6, and her hips when she's 8. That's all in theory. Of course, the former teacher in me doesn't want my Baby going to school with "crooked" legs to get picked on for. Which is why we are re-evaluating when she's 4. If her feet haven't straightened out by then, surgery will be our option. This will all be done before school will officially start for her.
Keep your fingers crossed that in 2 years, her feet decide to cooperate with us. :)
I am very thankful that this is our biggest concern with her. Things could be worse, and I count my blessings that this is something that can be corrected.

Swim Lessons

Hailey had her last Swim Lessons yesterday. She was taking them from a neighbor, and we met Miss Mary at our pool. It was quite convenient! Hailey came a very long way in her lessons this summer! She started off crying the entire first lesson, to jumping off the steps to Miss Mary and swimming almost by herself! Next year we will do them again, and have Kristen signed up!

Haircut

I finally did it! I took Miss Priss today to get a REAL haircut! She had her very first one right after she turned one to get rid of her afro. She had a second one a few months back, but it was only a small trim. Literally 1/2" cut. (if that much.)

This time.... I cut it off! It was so long, and I needed it a bit shorter for the hot days here. I think she looks older now. Mark almost served me with Divorce papers, and I have to face my family tomorrow. Hehe.... I got about 5-6" cut off, YIKES!

It looks straight in the pic because her hair is wet. It is still curly. :)

Also, Hailey had another Asthma Attack over the weekend. She's fine now, thankfully! Went to the Doc today, and she's got a clean bill of health. Hope to post pics soon. I've gotta get back in the swing of things!

I took Kristen outside to "Play Model" for me. This was a cute shot. Couldn't use it for my site, but I think it's cute. Looks can be so deceiving. :)

Also...Mark and I went to an "Over The Hill" Prom on Saturday. My Sister, and her Hubby were on niece duty for the night! They Girls LOVED spending the night with Aunt Kelley and Uncle Michael. By the way....they say we need a Chief now. :)

Dance Recital

We had Hailey's dance recital this morning! She did fabulous, and we're so proud of her! I don't have pictures right now. Hilarye was there, and she took pics for us. I will post them when I get them.

Our First Trip To The ER.

Well.... We just had our very first ER visit this past weekend. Hailey had to be admitted to the hospital, poor baby.

Friday night she started coughing, then in the middle of the night (around 3 AM), she came in our bed, and we noticed she was having a tough time breathing. We went to Dance Class Sat, and she was OK... coughing, but otherwise OK. After lunch, I was about to put her down for nap, when I noticed she was wheezing, and I could see she was breathing really hard. I took her to Children's Urgent Care. They saw us right away due to her breathing. They gave her 2 breathing treatments, a chest X-Ray, and a dose of steroids. 3 Hours later, we left. They told me if the wheezing or laboring to breath came back to go to the ER. Well....around 8:30, that night, we notice she was breathing hard and wheezing again. Off to Children's Hospital ER we go. (All four of us, this time!)

We get there, and very long story short, after an hour long breathing treatment, she was still wheezing and laboring hard to breathe. They decided to admit us due to that, and the fact that she couldn't maintain a proper oxygen level on her own without the oxygen mask. (Normal level is 95, she was doing 89)

SO....at 2:30 AM....we get admitted to the hospital, and taken to our room. :) We had the Respiratory Therapists, and the Nurses in and out of our room. Hailey was getting a breathing treatment every four hours, round the clock.

She got diagnosed with Asthma! She has Eczema, and apparently the two go hand in hand. I had to go to an Asthma class in the hospital Sunday.

We are finally home, and she is still slightly wheezing, though not as badly, and she is still on the every 4 hours breathing treatment, along with steroids. (Yup...the breathing treatment is over night too.)

The Girls both were wonderful in the hospital, and Children's was fabulous with us!

Here are a couple pics I got with my phone. Next time we have to go to the ER, I will most certainly pack an overnight bag....just in case!

Update on Kristen

Some may know that Kristen has Tibial Torsion. We took her to the Ped Ortho back when she was 18 months old, they did an X-Ray, and discovered her Femur Bones are curved 35% inward. (45% curve being Worst Case.) She also has a non straight Pelvic Bone. With these "issues" she still walks pigeon toed. (She was basically a long baby, and there wasn't enough room in my belly for her.) We took her back right after she turned 2 to the Ped Ortho, and they gave me a "wait and see" answer. I cannot accept this answer, so I am going to see another Doc in July, then we are seeing a Surgeon in Aug. Of course, Surgery will be our very last step. She is constantly tripping over her feet and falling. Her bones hadn't straightened out any from her initial 18 month appt to her 2 yr appt. The Ortho had hoped they would.
Fingers crossed that the second opinion we get will be one that I agree with. I'm wanting them to put braces on her legs that will be worn while she's sleeping. Hopefully that will help correct the inward-ness. I just can't sit back and wait till she's 7-9 and see if they correct themselves. :)
